What is a Smoothing Treatment?

A smoothing treatment is a temporary solution to combat unwanted frizz, tame the cuticle of your hair, prevent split ends, and in some cases provide softening of waves and curls.

What treatment options does Malina offer?

What are the differences between a keratin treatment, a Brazilian smoothing treatment, and a Malina Smoothing Treatment?

Firstly, Malina products do not contain Formaldehyde, or any chemicals that emit Formaldehyde when heated. We are committed to the safety of hairstylists and clients when experiencing our brand.

Also, unlike some other smoothing brands Malina is committed to only using plant based ingredients. The most common ingredient in smoothing systems is Keratin. Keratin is an animal product, usually sourced from animal hair, feathers, wool and nails. Oils from animal’s sebaceous glands provide most of the Keratin on the market today. We replace Keratin with plant-based equivalents that work the same way within the hair but ensure our products are Vegan. We also infuse all our products with Tourmaline. Tourmaline is a rare gemstone and adds mineral properties to our treatments. The Negative Ions in Tourmaline counteract to eliminate the Positive Ions found in damaged and dry hair.

Lastly, our product is specially formulated to care for all hair types, and our protocols allow flexible customized results based on your clients specific needs.
